The Big Bang Theory Season 3

Okay so my fave nerd show is really wearing thin this season. Have they run out of material? Its not as funny and the characters are just starting to wear on me. Leonard (Johnny Galecki) has finally got a relationship happening with Penny (Kaley Cuoco) thus ending the funny storylines about their unresolved sexual tension which was a major force for drama.

According to wiki ‘the third season centers around their struggle to maintain a relationship’. I think the third season struggles to do anything. Its not clever, its not funny any more, i’m not sure what the american live audience is laughing at most of the time. I sat through 15 episodes and some of them were ok. Not brilliant not great just… ok.

Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) continues to get more and more annoying though now it seems he doesn’t make me laugh so much as want to hit him with something. Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) and Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) are still nurturing their pseudo gay relationship and thats funny. I think I’ve heard one too many of Sheldons hilarous (NOT) bazinga jokes. The situations are getting more and more desperate as they try to wring a laugh out of you. The episode where Sheldon goes mad – more mad then usual and ends up in a kiddies ball pool whining something nerdy about atoms. SIGH.

My friends maintain its funny so maybe the sheen has just worn off for me quicker and they’ll catch up or maybe i’ve just tired of the characters. So far there hasn’t been any character growth or real development and I’m bored with the same old nerd games. Something has to change up in the plot and Wolowitz getting a girlfriend thats as exciting as chalk isn’t it.

Childhood friends Eric (Sam Worthington), Windows (Jay Baruchel), Hutch (Dan Fogler) and Linus (Chris Marquette) are nerds that spent their childhood dreaming about breaking into George Lucas’s Skywalker Ranch and watching the unreleased Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace movie before anyone else. When they find out Linus is terminally ill, Eric, Windows and Hutch decide its now or never and they embark on the trip of a lifetime. Zoe (Veronica Mars’ Kristen Bell) tags along as the sassy nerd chic representative. This is fandom at its nerdiest. With a custom painted Star Wars van the guys set out for Skywalker Ranch. Stopping along the way to meet Window’s online girlfriend who as all internet girlfriends isn’t quite as she seems and of course to make fun of Star Trek fans at every opportunity. This film is light hearted humour, its clever, entertaining and there are a lot of laughs for nerds, Star Wars fans etc, but it is also enjoyable as a film in its own right. Even if you don’t like Star Wars you can still enjoy this film.

Hey Hey whaddaya know its another show about nerds!  This show is clever and very funny especially if you view it with nerds who can fill you in on all the ‘nerd speak’.  All the nerds are here, the one who breaks into his neighbors apartment to clean up, the one who wears Star Trek costumes in public, the one who can’t speak to girls and the nerd who longs for a ‘normal’ girl yet knows he wouldn’t really know what to do with one if he did.

It just keeps getting better, the scripts are funny, entertaining and really well written.
