Baby Announcement and Coolest Name Ever

Hi All

So I don’t do news announcements much but I have to congratulate my friends on their latest co-production a huge baby boy. Whilst we had all hoped a little for a lizard baby, go ‘V’ it was not meant to be and instead they’ve been blessed with a very angelic looking child that enjoys sleeping, YAY! Despite his concerns about coming out in the first place, he is being introduced to all things cool by his super excited and cool parents. His current music faves are Dirty Three and Pink Floyd which he digs and wiggles his toes to, its also the only music of choice at bed time.

By far the coolest thing about this baby is their wicked name choice. At first telling friends and family the baby would be named Watermelon Jones relatives were both shocked and concerned, which provided us all with a good laugh. Apparently when they revealed its real name they had to deal with something they never could have imagined… their heartbroken 5 year old niece who preferred Watermelon Jones. Well you just can’t please everyone.

The baby has been named dom dom dom….

Ash after Bruce Campells Ash from evil dead. Not Ashley just Ash. So there it is the coolest name ever!

Sigh… jealous.

Joss Whedon Horror Flick Cabin in the Woods Canned?

The first loss due to 3d film avatar copy cats is…

Joss Whedons horror/thriller film Cabin in the Woods was due out January 2011. The studio decided to convert it to 3D in the hope of riding the Avatar wave of success. Instead the movies now been canned for release due to the expense of 3D conversion and now fans miss out again because they can’t release it as a normal film as they have no money to promote it!

ARGHHHHHHH I say release it and let Joss’s fans do the promotion, did they learn nothing from the overnight server crashing success of Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.

Movie makers have a lot to answer for instead of releasing a perfectly good film, they’ve got nothing! And the audience are the one who miss out.

I”M SO CRANKY RIGHT NOW. HULK WANT TO SMASH!!!

So i’m halfway through the film ‘Invisible Target and it dies’. Like totally dies! It won’t fast forward, I can’t go to the scene ahead and rewind, nothing, all I can do is rewatch the freakin previews ‘Speed Racer’ (what the heck were they thinkin???) and rewatch the same twenty minutes of totally mindblowing kick ass hong kong movies at its best. GRRRRRR

People who scratch dvds suck! They suck big time. Called my movie store hoping they can hook me up with another copy but noooo this is the only copy. Downloading gave me sparse options but 3 hours looks like the best they can do. The pain, i’m in right now, so much pain, I wan’t to say to all whats wrong with people today. How hard is it to watch the dvd and put it back in the stoopid packet. Why does my dvd look like someone ran over it in a mac truck reversing over the dvd and driving forward over it again just for the hell of it 522 times. Making the dvd unwatchable but only after you’re completely sucked in and emotionally involved. Emotionally involved people!!!

If you’re out there movie scratcher I hope you can’t sleep tonight, I hope you feel bad deep in your soul for the emotional distress you have caused me and my trustworthy few who subscribe to this, you have to wait another day for your review because I can’t download it fast enough.

And don’t even get me started on Video freakin Ezy and Blockbuster whose 17 year old staff haven’t heard of the film like ever, am I sure I got the name right (GRRRRR) why do these stores even exist! They never have any good movies actually in, their dvds are more scratched then the independent stores.

Sigh

The last time I went to a chain video store was when I was at Uni. I would go in with no money and get a movie. It wasn’t charm, or good looks. It was all in the ‘get it the first time or get it free’. I basically wandered in, looked for whatever was all out, then claimed I wanted to hire that film, then got it free the next night, though they were often gracious enough to offer me a free movie tonight instead which suited me fine. So there it is, my whole uni life of free movies.

But seriously DON”T FREAKIN SCRATCH THE DVDS!!!

Sigh so anyway trying to rip it to my computer to see if that works. Stay tuned for the review. Though 25 mins in its freakin awesome.

Whats Coming Up

The news is my fave show Chuck has just been greenlit for Season 4 so far its for 13 eps but hopefully it will get 22 eps. So seriously deliriously happy about that!!!

Also looking forward to one of my faves from Reaper Tyler Labine in a movie with Alan Tudyk!!! Could it get any more awesome?

Would You Rather be a Ninja or an Assassin?

So this is the serious topic of discussion that my husband and I are seriously debating. I mean honestly which would you rather be. I choose Ninja and am shocked when my Hubzand chooses Assassin. I mean hello a Ninja can’t be married to an Assassin! What was he thinking. So began our debate. He argues that Assassins have cool weapons, I argue that throwing stars rock and the Ninja’s body is the ultimate weapon. Who needs a gun when you can do a one inch punch like Bruce Lee? He counters with Ninjas have clans – obligation and family honour etc. Assassins are in it for themselves. I argue that Ninjas have clans, family, a sense of honour and belonging, their efforts rewarded with rank and integrity. He makes some kind of snorting disaproving noise, lets call it a snort of derision and replies ‘You just can’t go past Leon the professional, he’s cooler than any Ninja’. Yeah thats what he said. So I take a deep breath, I mean Leon is pretty damn cool and there’s Luc Bessons ‘La Femme Nikita’ which also that chic kicked some serious ass. Hubzand points out they’re both Luc Besson characters and I realise I haven’t given this enough thought. I mean do I want to be a Luc Besson Assassin, an ordinary American Assassin, or like a serious Japanese Ninja or a rogue Ninja. Take that Ninja training and run. He counters that Ninjas in todays popular culture aren’t based on any fact and while Assassins might not be as glamourous as they’re often portrayed the potential to actually be one exists. So maybe he has me there. However for those desperate enough the opportunity remains to become a Ninja Assassin. And so the debate is left, hanging awkwardly in the air.

Too much wine has been drunk. Too many movies have been watched and too many childhood dreams could be destroyed if the ‘debate’ turns into a ‘dispute’ or ‘argument’. But seriously which would you rather be? A Ninja or an Assassin?

Sigh Corey Haim Who Will I Marry Now?

So Corey i’m not sure what happened you had soo many new films in the works. Who will I marry now? It was true love when I saw you in Dream a Little Dream, I thought I would never speak to my best friend again after she said she was going to marry corey in that irritatingly dreamy voice. I was ready to knock out the competition when I realised she was talking about Corey Feldman, so we stayed friends and forever spent our pocket money on your movies. Did I want to marry Dinger or a rollerboy -uh hello Rollerboy!!!

But now our love will never be!

From the wiki write up (super depressing) it seems like he was a lost boy. Well and Truly, so kiddies learn from Corey, no 8 on the VH1′s Greatest Teen Stars, don’t do drugs.

Chuck (2007) Season Three – Chuck is back my friends and he knows KUNG FU!

YAY merry freakin christmas new year etc and thank you baby jesus my CHUCK IS BACK!!!

So naysayers, sooky-lah lahs and purists that whined about season three being crap – eat lizard tails and vampire ash!

Chuck season three is awesome – its sassier, funnier, cooler, gadgetier, and Chuck is more out of his depth then ever only this time he really doesn’t know it. The characters have all grown a bit and the story has changed the tension between Chuck and Sarah making it almost to much for the romantics at heart to bear. Casey is still Casey, ballsy, brash and thats how we like him. All the faves are back except… Anna (Julia Ling) – Oh Anna how could you leave us, who will we find to love the bearded little man now. Please Anna we miss you come back. An addition to the team Darren Shaw is given the lead on all things Chuck in an effort to go after The Ring. Its all out weirdness with the casting of season threes newest characters Brandon Routh plays Shaw (you might remember him from such films as the abysmal 2006 film Superman Returns) and Kristin Kreuk (who you might remember from playing a wet rag – I mean girl next door type in Smallville). So superman tie ins… Weird, were they hoping for nerd Irony? They’re both ok in the roles but I think the Superman double whopper was too much to add.

If you haven’t caught up with Chuck season three here’s a preview and Zachary aka Chuck says thanks to the fans.

When the season three 2-part premiere aired in the US it pulled the series’ highest ratings since 2007.

My addiction and undying love for Chuck remains solid. There are the shows that wear on you like Big Bang Theory which for two seasons is awesome then somewhere along the line, it becomes the warm up instead of the main event. It becomes the show you watch while wandering around your living room hunting for your pajamas, ignoring your ringing phone, checking a text message and reheating dinner. You know the show you can’t commit to sitting still for. You know the ones.

Chuck will never be the warm up! ITS JUST TOO AWESOME.

Season three is as cool as ever! Luving Chuck, Luving Awesome and super luving Morgan. There are some harsh twists that have hurt me so much i’ve taken to drinking serious vodka people just to warm myself up to talk about it online with all you luverly folks who I don’t even know.
